What You Need:
This is a GPS navigation ride, so participants will need to bring a GPS device or a smartphone/ tablet with a navigation app. If you need help choosing or setting up navigation tools, don’t hesitate to contact us—we’re here to help. We also have some hire GPS units that fit any bike
We recommend carrying a PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) or Satellite Messenger. We use and recommend Spot Trackers for enhanced safety.
We also suggest starting the ride with new tyres—80/20 off-road tyres are ideal for the variety of terrain you’ll encounter.
Safety Equipment:
Your safety is our top priority. We highly enforce wearing enduro or motocross boots instead of soft-style adventure boots. The reason is simple: protection. Enduro and motocross boots offer superior protection for your ankles and lower legs, which is critical when riding on unpredictable terrain. These boots provide reinforced ankle support, tougher soles, and overall better impact resistance, reducing the risk of serious injury. While adventure boots may be comfortable for walking, they lack the necessary protection for serious off-road conditions. This has now been a hard rule at RideADV for over 12 months.
