We have selected various stops along the route where riders can refuel both themselves and their bikes. Group dinner locations will be shared during the briefings for those who wish to dine together. \n\nFuel Requirements:\nStart the ride with a full tank and ensure that your bike has a minimum fuel range of 250 km to comfortably complete each day’s route. Refueling stops will be indicated\, but it’s important to start the day fully fueled. \n\nDifficulty Levels:\nThis event caters to riders of all experience levels\, with two route options available: \n\nStandard Route: Suitable for larger adventure bikes or those looking for a scenic ride with less technical terrain.\nSpecial Route: Ideal for smaller bikes or more experienced riders seeking a greater challenge and more technical sections.\n\nYou can choose a different route on Day 2 if you want to experience something different. We also have some hire GPS units that fit any bike \nWe recommend carrying a PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) or Satellite Messenger. We use and recommend Spot Trackers for enhanced safety. \nWe also suggest starting the ride with new tyres—80/20 off-road tyres are ideal for the variety of terrain you’ll encounter. \n\nSafety Equipment:\nYour safety is our top priority. We highly enforce wearing enduro or motocross boots instead of soft-style adventure boots. The reason is simple: protection. Enduro and motocross boots offer superior protection for your ankles and lower legs\, which is critical when riding on unpredictable terrain. These boots provide reinforced ankle support\, tougher soles\, and overall better impact resistance\, reducing the risk of serious injury. While adventure boots may be comfortable for walking\, they lack the necessary protection for serious off-road conditions. This has now been a hard rule at RideADV for over 12 months. \n\nContact Us:\nFor more details or any questions regarding the ride\, GPS setup\, or accommodations\, feel free to contact us. You can reach TB at 0499 089 715 or email us at info@rideadv.com.au. \nSign up early to secure your spot—we look forward to seeing you out there for an unforgettable adventure in the Central West as last two years the event has sold out![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

This is mandatory. If the weather changes (and it will)\, proper tyres could make all the difference. Contact TB before the event if unsure: 0499 089 715 \nFor any inquiries\, please reach out to Greg Yager at 0499 089715 or via email at info@rideadv.com.au. \nJoin Australia’s Premier Tour Company for an unparalleled adventure! \nSpaces are limited\, the High Country Ride fills quickly every year —last year’s event reached capacity within days of our 2024 Calendar release! Don’t hesitate\, or you may miss out on this incredible opportunity. \n\nHere’s what Gavin Marchio had to say about last year’s ride: \n“Brilliant High Country ride with the team from RideADV. As always\, the ride was professionally planned and run. It’s a great experience just turning up and enjoying brilliant riding\, knowing that it’s all been pre-run. Peace of mind having sweep riders mid-pack and at the back too. If a track is closed on the day\, the crew re-route you—no fumbling about trying to find alternative routes. The navigation rides are great as you get to do the ride with your mates at your own pace\, either quick or slow. Hard to believe there were a big group of riders as the field pretty much spreads out. I really enjoy the social aspect in the evenings\, meeting other riders and sharing stories. Highly recommend RideADV\, whether you’re an experienced adventure rider or a beginner\, they cater for all levels and for big or small bikes.” \nFor further details about this ride\, please contact TB at 0499 089715 or via email at info@rideadv.com.au. Final details will be provided after the prerun. \nThank you for your interest\, and we look forward to an unforgettable experience with you on the High Country Ride. \nNOTE: PLEASE BACK UP YOUR EXISTING TRACKS ON YOUR GPS. WE NEED TO HAVE SUFFICIENT SPACE TO LOAD OUR TRACKS AND ROUTES AND WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSING OR WIPING EXISTING TRACKS FROM YOUR GPS TO ENSURE SUFFICIENT SPACE IS AVAILABLE. WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE A GARMIN CLEAN OF OTHER TRACKS AND ROUTES TO AVOID CONFUSION WHEN USING YOUR DEVICE WITH OUR MAPS DURING THE RIDE.\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:8th Annual WR250R 2 Day Rally Ride Cessnock NSW\, 19th & 20th Oct 2024
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]\n \nBe aware places will be limited!\nWe are headed back to where it all started but it will still be a navigation ride!  \nThis is the premier worldwide WR250R event. It’s where you get to ride and socialise with like-minded owners of the bulletproof single. Most whom have ridden the quarter litre thumper\, rave about its ability to go harder for longer. Whether it’s on the road or in the dirt\, the WR250R is the “Swiss Army Knife” of motorcycles. It’s won over a host of friends\, including RideADV head honcho Greg ‘TB’ Yager and the entire Yamaha RideADV team. \nCome ride with the Destination Yamaha RideADV team for what will be the biggest WR250R Rally yet! The first Yamaha WR250R Rally took place in May 2017\, the second April 2018\, the third in March 2019\, all at Cessnock\, based out of Chris Watson Motorcycles. All the previous Rallys have been a massive success and a cult following has ensued. The Rally has grown in size\, to the point that the format needs constant change\, including overnight locations.  \nIt’s bigger than a trail ride\, so it’s time it became a Rally proper. The 2024 Rally will be a GPS navigation style event again. What’s that mean? It means no more corner-man system! Which means no waiting on corners\, just follow the route. You will need a device that can have a GPX file loaded into it. We have purchased and recommend Garmin GPS products. You can use a phone if you have a navigation app that will accept a GPX file of up to 10\,0000 way points. Beware\, we frequently witness phone failures on these rides because of vibration\, being out of range\, flat batteries and getting wet. \nBoth days ride will be led and swept by experienced RideADV team members. We aren’t cooking from the truck although there may be a breakfast or two from the truck.\n• Everyone gets 80L of luggage space on the truck. The support truck will carry your luggage\, tent or swag\, spares\, chairs and fridges for your refreshments. This includes water and fizzy adult drinks.\n• The support vehicle that follows the entire route has emergency fuel\, extra medical supplies\, spares\, cold drinks\, spare bike (see RideADV team member) 4 bike off-road trailer\n• Sweeps riders are mechanically and medically trained. They all carry extra fuel and tooling as well as a welcome and calming smile.\n• Minimum fuel range of 430kms is required for this ride. This is only one day and maybe avoided after the final prerun\n• All bikes should start with a new or near new chain\, sprockets\, brake pads and wheel bearings. Call TB if you have any questions.\n• All bikes have to have at a minimum off-road style tyre of 75% off-road\, 25% road\, call TB if you have any questions.\n• Tyres can be ordered through Tyres 4 Bikes at Dural and fitted at Condobolin if required\, call Geoff on 02 9651 1668.
