Central West Two-Day Oberon–Cowra Return

This ride is open to all brands and makes of motorcycles.

Starting and finishing in Oberon, NSW, this 2-day event showcases the very best of the NSW Central West. From the crisp mountain air and pine forests of Oberon, through rugged trails and sweeping escarpments, to the rolling valleys and wide-open country of Cowra – this ride has it all.

Cowra greets you with its rich history, flowing farmland and the Lachlan River at its heart – the perfect mix of open gravel, hidden valleys and outback hospitality. With Oberon’s high-altitude trails on one end and Cowra’s big-sky country on the other, you’ll experience technical climbs, flowing backroads, creek crossings, and classic country pubs along the way.

Routes

Each day offers two options:

• Standard Route: Perfect for larger bikes or riders wanting big views without the heavy technical sections.

• Special Route: More technical, suited to smaller bikes or skilled riders on bigger bikes looking for a challenge.

Switch routes each night to tailor your adventure. Both are fully supported with medically and mechanically trained sweep riders and vehicle support.

Event Schedule & Highlights

Friday, May 1 – Arrival in Oberon

• Map Loading & Registration: 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM @ Big Trout Motel, Oberon St.

• Dinner, meet fellow riders, weekend briefing.

Day 1 – Saturday, May 2: Oberon → Cowra

• 7:45 AM: Riders briefing and sign-out @ Big Trout Motel.

• Ride: Through Oberon pine forests and rolling undulations, into the rugged Abercrombie region, across the Lachlan River and past Wyangala Dam, with endless sweeping trails linking it all together.

Day 2 – Sunday, May 3: Cowra → Oberon

• 7:45 AM: Riders briefing and sign-out @ Aalana Motor Inn.

• Ride: From Cowra’s wide-open country back through the old goldfields and rugged hills of Trunkey Creek, into Blayney’s rolling high country. Cross ridgelines and valleys before dropping into Rockley and then Oberon’s pine forests. Fast gravel, twisty climbs, river crossings and gold country backroads – this return leg has it all.

Cost & Registration

$170 per day per rider – just $340 for two full days of spectacular supported ADV riding!
That’s only a small increase over our previous sold-out two-day events.

Important Info for Riders

• Fuel Range: Minimum 250 km off-road required.

• Footwear: Off-road MX/Enduro boots only. Adventure/touring boots are not allowed.

• Tyres: 80/20 off-road tyres required (rain can change conditions fast).

• Ambulance Cover: Strongly recommended.

• GPS: Bring a clean GPS device (backup your own data first).
