The Ténéré Rally Is Now an Annual Event!

The 2026 Ténéré Rally will be a GPS navigation-style event. What does that mean? It means no corner-man, no waiting on corners, and no dust! For those seeking an extra challenge, there will be ‘break-out’ sections. Each of the five days will have lead riders setting out ahead of the group, and the route will be swept by experienced RideADV team members. These team members are first-aid qualified, mechanically trained, and supported by nearby vehicles. A Yamaha factory-trained technician will be on-site for scrutineering and will also participate in the ride. A luggage truck will transport your luggage and/or camping gear to and from the overnight stays. All accommodation is at your expense.

In addition, there will be a professional event photographer and videographer capturing all the action throughout the rally. Every entrant will receive access to the official event gallery and highlight video after the
event.

We’re kicking off the Ténéré Rally in proper style leaving Batemans Bay and heading south through some of the most spectacular terrain on the Lower South Coast of NSW. The route winds its way along the Sapphire Coast, mixing coastal trails, escarpment climbs, forest tracks, and creek crossings that showcase everything this region is famous for: sweeping sea views across pristine beaches and headlands, leaf-covered twin-trail through the forests of Mogo, Wandella and Bodalla, and remote escarpment climbs with big-sky lookouts through to back-country gravel linking small coastal towns and dairy country.

Optional breakout sections will offer spicier, more technical tracks perfect for experienced riders looking to stretch the Ténéré’s legs a bit harder. The track climbs into the escarpments through Greenlands, then stretches across to Nimmitabel, opening into wide-sky country with sweeping views in every direction. From there, we drop south through Glen Allen and Tantawangalo, rolling through pristine alpine forest before descending from the range toward the coast again. The final run delivers fast gravel, creeks and fern-lined trails as we make our way into Eden, where we’ll settle in for two nights. Day 3 – Wednesday, 20 May 2026: Eden Loop Day (~340–360 km)

Departure: 8:00 AM from Eden

Leaving Eden, we head south before climbing straight up into the ranges the kind of country that feels every bit like the High Country itself.vWe run down toward the Victorian border, staying high on the ridgelines and weaving through wild, remote terrain that few ever get to see. The trail parallels the border for a while before working its way north through Paddy’s Flat and into Bombala for lunch a classic country stop that’ll recharge both bike and rider. From Bombala, the adventure continues through lush forests and flowing twin-trail tracks, working northeast before dropping back across the ridges through Rocky Hall and Burragate, then down through Towamba. For those still keen for more, an optional breakout loop starts and finishes in Kiah, climbing up around the fire tower and a string of lookouts that showcase the coast and ranges in one sweeping view. By the time we roll back into Eden, you’ll have clocked another unforgettable day of riding remote, scenic, and loaded with variety.

Fuel and lunch stops en route.

Group Dinner: TBA (Riders expense)

Day 4 – Thursday, 21 May 2026: Eden → Bega (~300–330 km)

Departure: 8:00 AM from Eden

Day 4 might start out looking like a coastal cruise, but don’t be fooled  this one’s got plenty of twists. We roll north out of Eden, hugging the coast before the track suddenly lifts us back into the ranges. Just when you think it’s going to be an easy seaside day, we climb high again toward the Tablelands, crossing ridge lines before we drop back down and trace the coast north, winding past lookouts, headlands and sweeping sea views that show off the Sapphire Coast at its best. The route pushes through Pambula and Tathra with panoramic views before looping back from the northwest into Bega the Cheese Capital of NSW.

It’s a ride that perfectly blends coastal flow and high-country grit, serving up one of the most diverse days of the rally — from sea breeze to mountain air, all in a single run.

Day 5 – Friday, 22 May 2026: Bega → Batemans Bay (~300 km)

Departure: Bega

The final day of the Ténéré Rally — and what a way to wrap it up! We roll straight north out of Bega, following the coast through lush forest and twisting backroads that remind you why this region is adventure-riding heaven. Crossing the highway near Tilba Tilba, the route climbs through forested ridges and drops down into Eurobodalla, then on to Bodalla, weaving north before swinging west toward Wamban. The tracks tighten and open again as we roll into Moruya for fuel and lunch.

Out of Moruya, we head northwest through some of the most spectacular forest country of the entire rally — fast gravel, shaded twin-trail, and the scent of eucalypt thick in the air. From there, we drop down into Nelligen, then parallel the Clyde River up through Mogood, climbing and carving before realising we’ve drifted too far north near Brooman. The final run circles back, following the river and skirting the Princes Highway, before crossing the bridge into Batemans Bay — where it all began.

Five days. One incredible journey. The Ténéré Rally finishes the only way it should — with tired legs, dirty bikes, full hearts, and grins that’ll last for weeks.
